How to remain calm on your wedding day

Remember that you have hired professionals to take care of your special day/evening and put your trust in them.  They have most-likely done hundreds of events and know what to do and what to expect.  If you are unsure about something, ask them!  I find that when I’ve spoken to a couple that was a bit insecure about how the day would unfold, and given them a well-organized timeline, they tend to relax and start to be confident that their event will, indeed, be a success!

Happy planning and congratulations!!  Be happy, in-love, and gorgeous!

Theme Weddings

I’ve seen so many darling ideas for theme weddings and wanted to share them with you. Here are a few of my favorites!:

*Great Gatsby
*Retro Dapper Day
*Steampunk
*Tropical Luau
*Nautical
*Victorian
*Japanese Garden
*Parisian
*Disney

…Just to name a few.

Many brides have had a “mermaid” look to their dress and hair. I’ve even seen a beautiful crown on one of my brides that she handmade and it was a full of rhinestone shells, and starfish! It was amazing, and so was she.

Why do I need a day-of wedding coordinator?

I remember the first wedding I worked as a coordinator and thinking to myself “I wish I had a coordinator for my wedding”.

Why would I need a day-of wedding coordinator? What do they do?

I’ll just get straight to the point. Hiring a professional is worth every penny! Although the planning process can be fun and exciting from going with the girls to pick out your dress to picking your colors, menu, etc., it can also be overwhelming. Especially with all the information and choices we have now.

After spending months of planning for your special day (not to mention the funds), leave the day-of in the hands of someone who has supported hundreds of weddings/events and knows how to keep everything flowing from insuring everyone in the wedding party knows what to do, when to start the ceremony, where to tell people to go after the ceremony, insuring people don’t have to wait too long before the meal is served to cake cutting, bouquet/garter toss and party time! You don’t have to give it another thought. You and your wedding party, parents and guests just show up and enjoy the day you worked so hard for. Aaaaand, if by chance there are any little “fires” that need to be put out, they will be, without you even knowing about it.

I’ve seen so many times when a wedding party is arriving, and because of all the excitement, the bride starting to stress. The girls are giddy and asking questions, moms are getting nervous, the guys are wandering out to find the bar, etc. Excitement is great, but it is also a form of stress. I’m so happy to welcome everyone, and put the bride at ease, knowing that I am there for her to make everything as easy as possible.

Your coordinator will support you and should be calm and cool as a cucumber, keeping you and your wedding party calm as well during prep time. You can get ready and chill with a glass of champagne while she makes sure everything is done behind the scenes. See “What People are Saying” on my website californiadreaminweddings.com

For all you lovely brides out there in the planning process, I wish you all the very best. Remember, this is YOUR day and to do what is best for you and your groom.

Luv n’ kisses!
